Some high-profile private companies and public agencies who hire civil engineers are described in Chapter 3. Opportunities for advanced studies in civil engineering are also described, as well as opportunities outside of the civil engineering profession. The PE (Principle and Practice of Engineering) exam, the final step before obtaining a professional engineer license, is described in some detail. Read more
